A great loop relatively close to Boulder. Don't be fooled by the moderate distance (~8mi) -- this is a tough ride due to some steep climbs. "Walker" has oft been said to be the most appropriately named of our trails ... unless you are the manimal, this trail will beat into walking at least once. There are some grueling short climbs, some grueling longer climbs, and some super gnar descents.
The Walker Ranch Link or "Walker Connector" is a beautiful piece of singletrack which connects the Meyers Homestead and Walker Ranch trailheads. Starting from the Meyers end, this ribbon o' bliss winds down a grassy hillside, crosses Flagstaff Road (look both ways just like your momma said!), then climbs back uphilll through a wildfire burn area. You top out at the Walker Ranch parking area, and can proceed directly onto the Walker Ranch Loop.
Meyers Homestead Trail is an old road. This makes it a good family trail, but not too technical. It is a steady climb out to a nice overlook from the top of the ridge at the end of the road. It is an out and back, so turn back around and come back down the road you just climbed. There are lots of erosion rollers in the road that can make great kickers - just make sure there aren't any families, children, or dogs in your way before you decide to go airborne.
