Ride Description

Check out the Walker Ranch trails here.   We'll do the short connector from Meyer's Gulch, then head on the Walker Ranch loop, counter-clockwise to the steps....and then back.    ~12 miles of riding, much of it steep.   Not very technical, except in a couple spots.

We'll hit Backcountry Pizza and Taphouse after the ride.   (I previously posted that we'd do a BBQ at Meyer's Gulch, but had to abandon that idea after a fire ban was posted.)

Be prepared for ~2 hours of riding; plus, I probably don't need to say this, but be prepared for the possibility of cold rain.

Please RSVP for this event so we have a good headcount for the number of riders!

Important Info about the Rides:

  1. All riders MUST wear a helmet, bring water, and have a trail-ready bike. Riders should also carry the usual basics: spare tube(s), a pump, tire levers, a chain tool, and basic Allen wrenches.
  2. All riders ride at their own risk; group leaders take no responsibility for rider safety/injury.
  3. Riders must sign a liability waiver once during the season. If this is your first ride of the season, please bring a signed waiver with you or be prepared to complete one at the meeting spot.
  4. This ride launches at 6:00 pm so be at the trail head by 5:45 pm, dressed and ready to roll by 6:00 pm.
  5. If the weather is iffy, make sure to check the website after 4:00 pm on the day of the ride for updated info.  If you signed up for the ride, you will be notified by email if it's cancelled.
  6. For planning purposes please sign up (see below if you're signed in) for this event ahead of time. This is not mandatory, but helps us with planning. You need to be registered as a website user and as a member of the BOSS Rides Group.   This does not require BMA membership.....but why wouldn't you want to be a member?
  7. This ride is limited to 24 riders.   If you're not signed up, and we reach 24 riders, you will not be premitted to join us.

If you have any trouble figuring any of this out, drop us an email at wenr@bouldermountainbike.org

Ride Details

Hi everyone, Stan has to work tonight so I will be leading the ride for BMA.

In case you missed it in the ride posting, we are meeting-up at the Meyer Homestead trail head (across the road from Walker) and NOT the Walker Trail head.  From there we will ride over to Walker, ride it counter-clockwise to the Stairsteps, then back up to the Meyer Homestead trail head.  For those of you that haven't ridden Walker before, most of the trail we'll take is regarded as intermediate.  However, there are a few technical sections along the way.  The weather looks good for this evening so it should be a great ride!
