Gurlz Ride

2013/09/15 - 9:57am

In the wake of torrential rain and flooding, the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) department requests that citizens respect an emergency order and stay off all OSMP properties.

All county and state trails are also closed (in addition to city trails) until further notice. In short, no trails are open in Boulder County.

Please respect these closures. There's no point in exploring right now - if you love our trails, please stay off for the time being.

Staying off the trails will prevent any further and unnecessary damage and make the maintenance and rebuilding a tad easier. Plus, who likes a muddy bike?

What a fun ride we had last night!  Six ladies came out to rip it up at Walker Ranch.  We did a nice out-and-back counter clockwise to the Bike Portage and back, enjoying the beautiful setting and very few other trail users.  I gotta say the BMA gurlz can bomb it on the downhills! We narrowly missed the rain that started JUST as we pulled out of the parking lot to have food and beers at Under the Sun; except Meredith who didnt have her ID so they wouldn't serve her!

Our first two weeks of the season were rained out, but we finally were able to ride Hall Ranch, Thursday, May 16.

We made our way through the rock garden of Bitterbrush, encouraging and helping each other make it up each obstacle, and then headed up the rest of the trail.

It was a beautiful night for a ride, and we made it back to the cars in Lyons as soon as it got dark.

Here's a shot of the girls in the rock garden on Bitterbrush!

This week, May 22, three of us made it out after a last-minute trail change. The weather was once again beautiful - mid-70s. We rode up Picture Rock trail at Heil Ranch.
