Walker Ranch Loop

Trail Meter:

A great loop relatively close to Boulder. Don't be fooled by the moderate distance (~8mi) -- this is a tough ride due to some steep climbs. "Walker" has oft been said to be the most appropriately named of our trails ... unless you are the manimal, this trail will beat into walking at least once. There are some grueling short climbs, some grueling longer climbs, and some super gnar descents.

You can ride it either direction but I normally hit it counterclockwise to get the nice flowing singletrack descent on the backside. Going counter-clockwise, you will need to carry your bike down the stairs to South Boulder Creek. Take a look at the map at the trailhead before doing the loop, but the route is well marked. Save an hour or two for this ride depending on how fast you want to go.

Ride from Boulder on Flagstaff Road and do a Super Walker -- but be sure to bring food, water, and a jacket on this ride since it's pretty long.

Trail Meter: Closed»Good

Not sure who marked this as closed yesterday, but it was never closed. It's actually absolutely perfect- totally dry aside from a few small puddles.

Trail condition updated to Closed.

Trail Meter: Good»

Wondering if this is realistic for me to ride, I'm a roadie recently turned mountain biker riding a hand-me-down hardtail 26er. I'm fine with everything in Betasso but this seems tougher based on the ratings. Definitely get a little spooked on some technical sections sometimes

condition set to Good

Pretty much perfect aside from a few puddles. Still a big pit of quicksand near the upper bridge, but it's finally starting to dry up.

Trail Meter: Fair»Good

Normally I would still call it fair because of a few fairly messy puddles, but with the way most of the other trails are looking right now, I'd call Walker good to go!

trail is super tacky, small localized puddles but nothing too bad.

Trail Meter: Good»Fair

Not too bad. Is draining well all things considered.

Wet with some runoff an a few patches of mud and puddles. Some BMP trail work happening. Otherwise totally rideable.

condition set to Good
