MTB Skills - Climbing & Descending

Ride Description

BMA's MTB Climbing & Descending Techniques class builds on the skills participants learn in the Level 1 & 2 classes. It also provides intermediate to advanced riders an excellent opportunity to take their riding ability to the next level. Learn to navigate obstacles with confidence. We'll learn wheel lifts, climbing technique, and braking that will help you conquer obstacles like roots, logs and just about anything else that you may come across along the trails.

Maximum 14 students. No matter how you ride your bike, you're about to ride it better!

Cost

We love to ride and we know that you do so we try to keep our expenses low and then pass that savings onto our members. Our goal is to make our clinics accessible to everyone and to grow Boulder's awesome cycling community.

  • BMA Members: $40
  • Non Members: $60

Open to the first 15 participants who pay for their clinic spot!

This clinic will definitely fill up so if you sign up and can't make it, please email us at rides@bouldermountainbike.org so that we can open up your space for another person.

What you need

You should have decent basic bike control. Your bike should fit you and be in good working order. It should be a mountain bike. You need to have a helmet and gloves. Additional padding is encouraged. Minimum age to participate is 14 years old.

Important info

  • All riders MUST wear a helmet, bring water, and have a trail-ready bike.
  • All riders ride at their own risk, group leaders take no responsibility for rider safety/injury.
  • Riders must sign a liability waiver once during the season. If this is your first ride of the season, please be prepared to complete one at the meeting spot.
  • For permitting and planning purposes, please sign up if you plan to join us.
  • BMA has a 48 hour cancellation policy - no refunds or credits will be given with less than 48 hours cancellation notice.
