MTB Skills - Foundations Level 2

Ride Description

BMA's MTB Foundations level 2 caters to the intermediate rider looking to increase confidence on more technical trails. While Foundations Level 1 is a highly recommended prerequisite, experienced students are always welcome to join.

 

  • Review of body position, balance, and body-bike separation
  • Braking
  • Obstacle clearance
  • Trail skills including rolling down drops (about a foot)
  • Approaching jumps and drops
  • Cornering and berms

 

These classes assume you to have taken some kind of technical skills education before. Prior classes don't need to be from BMA. Maximum 14 students. No matter how you ride your bike, you're about to ride it better!

Start Time 5:30 pm (be there at 5:15 pm to allow ample prep time)
Cost $40 BMA Members, $60 Non Members

Cost

We love to ride and we know that you do so we try to keep our expenses low and then pass that savings onto our members. Our goal is to make our clinics accessible to everyone and to grow Boulder's awesome cycling community.

  • BMA Members: $40
  • Non Members: $60

Open to the first 14 participants who pay for their clinic spot!

This clinic will definitely fill up so if you sign up and can't make it, please email us at rides@bouldermountainbike.org so that we can open up your space for another person.

What you need

You should have decent basic bike control. Your bike should fit you and be in good working order. It should be a mountain bike. You need to have a helmet and gloves. Additional padding is encouraged. Minimum age to participate is 14 years old.

Important info

  • All riders MUST wear a helmet, bring water, and have a trail-ready bike.
  • All riders ride at their own risk, group leaders take no responsibility for rider safety/injury.
  • Riders must sign a liability waiver once during the season. If this is your first ride of the season, please be prepared to complete one at the meeting spot.
  • For permitting and planning purposes, please sign up if you plan to join us.
  • BMA has a 48 hour cancellation policy - no refunds or credits will be given with less than 48 hours cancellation notice.
